Personal Essay,

A good personal essay, is an essay that expresses the writers feelings, allows you to get to know them and is very interesting. Usually with a personal essay, it gives the writer something that they are passionate about to speak on. In order to have a good personal essay, you have to write about something that YOU wan to be be writing about otherwise the readers will be bored with your story. Based on the personal essay "Superman and Me" , I've learned that it's okay to be honest, humorous and to laugh at certain situations that occur in life. I think that sometimes, we spend to much time dwelling on bad experiences than the good. With this essay, it was an eye opener to be able to accept it and to laugh about it later. Another aspect that makes for a good personal essay, is to be able to open up to the reader and allow them to get to know you on a deeper, personal level. I learned this aspect from the personal essay, "The Story of My Body". Both of these personal essays, have given me new ideas on how to improve my personal essays. These are great reads and I'm sure they will inspire you as well. :)

Review of Roger Ebert's Journal

I recently reviewed a blog by the name of "Roger Ebert's Journal". The targeted audience was for people who are interested in reading reviews of movies, plays, musicians, books, documentaries, politics and views on different economic issues. The purpose of this blog is to allow bloggers to get to know the author, inform,and get a sense of his views on the author  takes on certain issues. The choice the author made with the design was a journal theme. In the blog,  it includes pictures with every post, as well as comments of fellow bloggers on the right side of the page. The tone of the blog is somewhat formal yet professional, humorous and sentimental. The author really knows what he's talking about and gives facts to support his opinion. I thought this blog was very good! I liked the setup of the page, and I liked the honesty of the author. What I didn't like about the blog was the fact that the comments were shown on the right side of the page! It kind of confused me because the comments weren't about the topics on the page which was the only bad thing about this blog! Don't let that prevent you from checking it out!
